AROMATHERAPY RETAIL PRICE LIST

I HAVE RELOCATED TO YORK from beginning of June 2007, new contact details below. Mail will be forwarded and phone messages picked up from my Sheffield address. I will continue to be available to teach in Sheffield at certain times.

I aim to supply good quality oils at reasonable prices. I buy from a range of suppliers to the professional aromatherapy trade, using different suppliers for different oils for the best combination of quality and price. As I am also not registered for VAT, and work from home thus reducing overheads, I can sell more cheaply. I have a minimal (or even hostile) approach to packaging and "image" - I re-use packaging, use basic labelling, avoid glossy brochures, etc. I hope to sell on price and quality of the oils, plus a straight and open attitude. No "miracle cures", "ancient and mystical" stuff, or technical-sounding rubbish about "first distillations".

Mail order TERMS (RETAIL); minimum order 5.00 (excluding P&P) unless order is for neat essential oils only. All prices given in £UK. POSTAGE & PACKING ** ROYAL MAIL CHARGES GO UP YET AGAIN APRIL 2007** Postage also now varies with size of package as well as weight. Main consequence is that a single bottle of essential oil is too thick to go as a letter, and will have to be sent as a packet at a cost (excluding packaging) of 0.92 2nd-class or 1.09 1st-class.

My system is not the simplest - but it is designed so that you pay fairly near to the actual cost of post and packing for each order.....

Add together total units for order; 2.5/5/10ml sizes count as 1 unit each, 25ml as 2 units, 30ml as 3, 50/60ml as 4, 100ml as 6, 250ml as 9, 500ml as 17, 1 litre as 34.

POSTAGE 1-3 units @ 1.00, 4-9 @ 1.55, 10-13 @ £2.05, 14-17 @ £2.20, 18-25 £2.90. Larger orders add £0.24 per extra unit. Orders normally sent second-class post; add 20% to P&P for 1st class post if required. Orders over 1000g have to be sent first class or parcel post. Please contact me about postage for larger orders. More expensive orders may be sent by recorded delivery.

You do not have to have a NOCHEX account yourself for payments under £100, but you would need one for payments over £100 up to £300 - it is free to join. QUANTITIES; Essential oils not listed, or larger quantities, can be obtained on order. Some larger sizes, especially of expensive or less common oils, may not always be available from stock. DROPPERS; my own-label oils have internal droppers in a range of different hole sizes, avoiding many of the problems of oils pouring too quickly or slowly.

ESSENTIAL OILS; I have not listed country of origin here, though my new bottle labels do; do e-mail me with any queries. All oils come from suppliers to the professional aromatherapy trade (as opposed to perfume or fragrance trade, or non-specialist shops).

MEDICINES ACT & MASSAGE OILS & CREAMS; I can supply any preparation to clients who have consulted me, but should not supply over-the-counter preparations which appear to claim to help medical problems. So I list creams for dry skin, but not eczema or psoriasis; for "muscles and joints" but not arthritis. If you want any unlisted item, contact me. Items can be made up to order (subject to £5 minimum excluding P&P for mail order).

08.04.07 Postage changes as Royal Mail put prices up yet again. And we already now have variable rates according to size of package as well as weight (coming soon? - variable rates according to colour of envelope, whether there is an "r" in the month...). Main effect of the latter is that small items cost more, some medium packages may cost a little less.

Oregano - as of April 2007 I am switching from a Turkish to a Spanish oil, as existing stocks are used up.

Frankincense & myrrh cream - formula changed from 27.12.05 - now contains Boswellia Serrata instead of Boswellia Carteri.

New-style bottles and droppers being phased in (due to inability of free market to continue supplying the old ones). So for a while you will find some oils in new-style bottles, and some in old.

NEW Organic essential oils - basil, ravensara, ylang ylang extra, lemon, orange, palmarosa, lemongrass, peppermint and eucalyptus. Also jojoba oil.

Withdrawn - Exotic/Relaxing 1 and 5 due to ecological concerns over sandalwood. Replaced by Exotic/Relaxing 6 and 7 using cedarwood Atlas. Also no longer stocking rosewood -try ho wood instead.

NB Alternative spellings or names
After Sun or Aftersun
Camomile or chamomile.
Cardamom or cardomom or cardomon.
Frankincense and Myrrh cream - Boswellia and Commiphora cream. (The frankincense species used is Boswellia Serrata, aka Indian frankincense - ask me if you want it with B. Carteri instead).
Ho Wood is sometimes called Ho Leaf - may be distilled from either, or both plus twigs.
Oregano is also commonly known as origanum.
Ravensara or ravansara or ravintsara. The botanical name for this has also been given as Ravensara Aromatica. There are two different trees used for oil production, but there is much confusion over naming of species. See Tony Burfield's article (on his website).
Vetiver or vetivert.
