SALES POLICY

I aim to supply good quality oils at reasonable prices. I have a minimal (or hostile) approach to packaging and "image". I re-use packaging, use basic labelling, and avoid glossy brochures. I  sell on price and quality of the oils, and a straight and open attitude. 

I won't try to sell to you on the grounds that aromatherapy is mystical, or that the ancient Egyptians practised it, or that my oils are from a "first distillation" (aren't all good essential oils?).

My turnover is below the threshold for  VAT, which helps keep the prices down.

11.03.13 amended postage error for online shop. Was overcharging for first-class post on smaller items - £4.30 instead of £2.70.

11.03.13 NEW 25ml size of cedarwood atlas

20.05.12 update Big Postage changes from 30.4.12 as Royal Mail put prices up yet again. Royal Mail are "simplifying their price structure" so the old width bands for packets of up to 100g, 100g-250g, etc., are replaced by one band up to 750g costing £2.70 1st class or £2.20 2nd class to post one tiny bottle! As a result, I will introduce an option for 2nd class post at the online shop. Clearly the postage is not so bad if you are buying more than one bottle, and for some medium-sized orders the postage will even be cheaper.

02.11.10 I have stopped selling wheatgerm oil, and also stopped putting it in my massage oils. I used to use it as a preservative, as recommended in many early aromatherapy texts and training courses, but doubt has now been cast on its effectiveness.

 

ESSENTIAL OILS; I have not yet listed country of origin (though my new bottle labels do); do e-mail me with any queries. All oils come from suppliers to the professional aromatherapy trade (as opposed to perfume or fragrance trade, or non-specialist shops).

DROPPERS; my own-label oils have internal droppers in a range of 3 different hole sizes, avoiding many of the problems of oils pouring too quickly or slowly.

NB Alternative spellings or names
Camomile or chamomile.
Cardamom or cardomom or cardomon.
Ho Wood is sometimes called Ho Leaf - may be distilled from either, or both plus twigs.
Oregano is also commonly known as origanum.
Ravensara or ravansara. The botanical name for this has also been given as Ravensara Aromatica. There are two different trees used for oil production, but there is much confusion over naming of species. See Tony Burfield's article (on his website). 
Vetiver or vetivert.

This website is best viewed at a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels - at 640 x 480 everything will look bigger, at 1024 x 768 you may need a magnifying glass. I have tested it on Opera 7.11, Netscape 6.2 and Internet Explorer 6. It may not display properly in older browsers that do not support CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) -  it will lack text formatting, background colours, etc.
